Wrap8: Wrapping up the 2013 Photo Shoot Season

by In Hye Lee, Social Media Coordinator  On Thursday, October 17, CEF celebrated its eighth year of production with the people who mattered most, including board members, photographers, and volunteers. The evening took place at the Anza Club in Vancouver, with refreshments provided by the Lazy Gourmet. The food was just one of many highlights of the night, which celebrated CEF’s accomplishments in 2013 as well as over the past eight years.

With Robert Brown, CEF’s Revenue Pillar Chair, taking on the duties of the Master of Ceremonies for the night, it was guaranteed to be an enjoyable evening. A slideshow featured images gathered over the year, ranging from behind-the-scenes shots from photo shoots to images of the charity projects we have supported over the years.

Special guests of the night included Adrianne Dartnall and Rick Lennert, founders of K.I.D.S., the Kids International Development Society, with whom CEF is working with on the Mobile Marine Health Clinic project in Cambodia.

Adrianne and Rick were happy to share their thoughts on the event and the year, along with some of CEF’s board members.

“As a partner of CEF we are grateful for the support of everyone involved. CEF has worked with KIDS to bring clean drinking water to hundreds of children and families living in poverty in rural Cambodia as well as to support the building of a floating clinic that doctors, nurses and midwives can stay on and treat villagers in very remote parts of Cambodia. Without this service the people that live there would have no access to medicine or medical treatment at all. The children, families and communities that we work with are truly grateful to have such compassionate support from everyone at CEF. It was terrific to move around the room and chat with such a varied and inspiring group of people who volunteer their time and talents to bring education, health care and hope to others around the world.” - Adrianne and Rick, K.I.D.S. Recent & Upcoming Events

In addition to celebrating CEF’s achievements at the wrap party, a few recent and upcoming events were highlighted. On October 19, in collaboration with several photographers, CEF held a business-themed photo shoot in London. Coming up on December 3  will be Giving Tuesday.

Thank you again to all those who contributed in the planning of the event, those who attended, and those who supported from afar. It’s been a bright year for CEF in 2013, and there’s no doubt that 2014 will be just as great a year!
